Free early education

The government has made funding available to provide a free part-time early education place for all three and four year old children in provision that is approved by the local authority.

Where can my child get a free early education place?
Early education can take place in:
-  Day nurseries
-  Pre schools or playgroups
-  Independent schools
-  Children's centres
-  Maintained nursery schools and classes
-  Registered childminders who are part of Southwarks quality assured childminding network and are accredited to provide early learning.
These are known as providers of early education. Please contact the Family information service for a list of providers.
