Juvenile Firesetters Intervention Scheme (JFIS)
The Juvenile Firesetters Intervention Scheme (JFIS) works with parents and carers to address firesetting behaviour by their children.
Our JFIS programme is free and deals with firesetting behaviour in children/young people. Specially trained Case Workers deliver fire safety education to children who have demonstrated a fascination with fire, including playing with lighters and matches, or who have set fires. We also work with children known to the youth justice system, and take referrals from families and professionals alike.
We can visit children at home or at another suitable venue. Alternatively, an appointment can be made to bring a child to one of our Wednesday clinic sessions, which are held at the London Fire Brigade’s headquarters in Union Street, SE1 (borough of Southwark).
